A group of cancers which originate in the bone marrow with high number abnormal white blood cells are known as Leukaemia or blood cancer. Generally bone marrow contains of few healthy and many immature blood cells which are known as blast cells. Under certain conditions, the genes that carry information for the multiplication of cells in the bone marrow undergo mutations and/or epigenetic changes and they start growing and multiplying very fast in an uncontrollable manner. This abnormal production of cancerous cells in bone marrow interferes in the normal blood cell production in the bone marrow and is released to the blood circulatory system with a mixture of mature and immature cells.
There are mainly 4 types of blood cancers. They are Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).
The speed at which leukemia develops and progresses are referred by the terms acute and chronic. Acute Leukemia’s develop and progress fast, whereas chronic leukemia’s develop and progress slowly. Based on the basic stem cells from where the leukemia develops is the basis for classifying as myeloid and lymphoid leukemias. There are different types of white blood cells in human beings, in which the B – Lymphocytes and T – Lymphocytes originate from lymphoid stem cells. When leukemia originates from lymphoid stem cells, ALL and CLL are developed. All other types of white blood cells like neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, monocytes, etc. are originating from myeloid stem cells and when leukemia starts from myeloid stem cells, then AML and CML develops. Myeloid forms of leukemia are further classified into different subgroups based on which individual type of white blood cells of myeloid stem cell is affected.
Among different types of leukemia, chronic leukemias are generally common among adults and acute leukemias develop both in children and adults. But ALL are more common among the children.
Generally Known Causes of Leukaemia
Material science based medical science has no clear information about the causes for the development of leukaemia. But from experience it has been found that certain factors have serious effects on the formation of Leukaemia or blood cancer. They are known as risk factors and are detailed below:
- Exposure to chemotherapy and radiation therapy
- Exposure to chemicals like benzene
- Intake immunosuppressant medications such in the case organ transplant
- Intake of corticosteroids
- Hereditary tendency for blood cancer
- Genetic disorders like Down syndrome, Fanconi anemia, etc.
- Presence abnormal chromosome no.: 22, also called Philadelphia chromosome
- Presence of HIV / AIDS
Dynamic Science (DS) Based Causes of Leukemia
Present science (material science) identifies that there are mutations or epigenetic changes happen in the genes or DNA that leads to the development of Cancer. Dynamic Science, which explains how mind, vital force (soul) and DNA are interconnected, reveals that our mind regulates the DNA with finality, though there are influences on DNA from the outside energy sources and also from the bio-chemical changes that happen in the physical body. But all DNA changes are ultimately under regulatory control of the mental thoughts. Through our researches based on DSA, we identified different mental and emotional thought processes that constructively and destructively influence the DNA structure. We identify that naturally positive, happy, comfortable, peaceful and pure mental emotional state constructively or curatively modify the DNA whereas negative, unnatural, pessimistic, fearful, destructive mental and emotional states derange the DNA to express itself to an unhealthy plane. Also each thought is connected to a functional system and/or organ of the body. In this connection we are in search for the particular negative mental and emotional state/thought that affects the particular energy that regulates the functioning of the genes that regulates the multiplication and functioning of the bone marrow for the development of leukaemia in each patient. It is still an ongoing research and development activity and a new direction of scientific observation which can help in the development of future Medical Science and a new methodology of treatment. Signs and Symptoms of Leukaemia
The common signs and symptoms of Leukaemia include:
- Shortness of breath
- Excessive bleeding
- Increased susceptibility to infections due to decreased immunity, etc.
There can be enlargement of lymph nodes, spleen, and liver. Most of the patients do not experience any symptoms during early stages of the disease.
Diagnosis of Leukemia
In general SGHHCC and SGCCRC consider all available options for the diagnosis of the cancer. We always prefer non-invasive methods than invasive methods. If invasive methods are highly necessary, then next priority will be to prevent the spread of the cancer as a by-product of the diagnostic procedure. As a general rule, we appreciate the biopsy to be done after total surgical removal of the entire tumour or affected organ with all nearby enlarged and affected lymph nodes so that the cut ends of the malignant tissues will not become instrument for the spread of the cancer inside the body.
Preliminary diagnosis of leukaemia usually takes place during routine blood test. Later one or more of the following tests will be conducted to confirm the diagnosis.
- Physical test: Physical examination is conducted to find out swollen lymph nodes, spleen and liver.
- Blood test: Blood tests are conducted to count the number of red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells.
- Biopsy: In this test, samples of tissues of bone marrow are examined under a microscope to ascertain whether leukemia cells exist.
- Cytogenetic testing: This test is conducted on the samples blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. This test finds out the existence of abnormal chromosomes in the blood and it also identifies the type of leukaemia.
- Spinal tap: This test is conducted by taking spinal fluid from the lower spine area and is to test the presence of leukaemia and signs of other problems
- Chest X-ray: Chest X-rays are sometimes taken to identify lymph nodes and diseases in the chest
Dynamic Scientific Approach (DSA) Treatment for Leukemia.
The natural holistic DSA treatment is introduced by Dr. Shaji Varghese Kudiyat, our chief physician and founder director who was instrumental in the formation of a new generation scientific hypotheses named Dynamic Science (DS). This science incorporate energy or dynamic level entities like mind and vital force (soul) with DNA that carries the genetic information and regulates the physical functioning of the body. It helps us understand the reasons for the formation of cancer cells by explaining how mutations or epigenetic changes happen in the genetic makeup. Dynamic Scientific Approach (DSA) is a natural holistic treatment methodology in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of all chronic diseases, especially of the cancer and other difficult diseases and is a by-product of the Dynamic Science. This treatment procedure has been found to be very effective in preventing the spreading of cancer and very useful in completely curing the cancer. DSA incorporates tools like Homeopathy, Yoga, Meditation, Counseling, etc. for curatively influencing the mind, vital force (soul) and body of the patient. There will be judicious application of surgery also. The patient and family members are required to undergo a group counseling session in our hospital or through online video consultation, where we explain how cancer develops. Only after this group counselling process, the actual treatment procedure begins. Click here to know more about Dynamic Scientific Approach.
Homeopathic Treatment for Leukemia
Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine invented by a German Physician named Dr. Samuel Hahnemann during eighteenth century. This is a treatment method based on the basic principle ‘Similia Similibus Curentur’ meaning ‘let like be cured by like.’ Homeopathy was very much popular and very successful during the eightieth and beginning of ninetieth century. Now in this twenty-first century it is again staging a coming back. Homeopathy treatment is individualized and patient specific in nature. In our center the homeopathic treatment is directly supervised by our Chief Physician, Dr. Shaji Varghese Kudiyat. Dr. Kudiyat had written a book titled “Homeopathic Medicine, An Unavoidable Medical Revolution.” Homeopathic medicines are the only energy medicines available in the medical world which can directly influence the vital force to affect a cure. Our homeopathic treatment for cancer has won many laurels under the control and guidance of our great founder director Dr. Shaji Kudiyat who scientifically explain to the world, hitherto unanswered questions, how homeopathic medicines work, what is acting curatively in homeopathic medicines, etc. All our patients get the unique opportunity to be treated by Dr. Kudiyat whose patient specific analysis of the situation and interpretations are unique and greatly beneficial to the patient and the entire family members.
